About us and our mission
Our main motivation is to develop formats for the transfer of experience from integrated to newly arrived refugees. Go1School wants to reach refugee families where they have their livelihoods and a protected environment can be created.
They should be advised and strengthened on key topics that are particularly important for their stabilization and promote their growth into society.
Most districts in Bremen have transitional homes for refugees, which accommodate a large number of families from (West) African countries. African women in particular are already attending counseling services in community facilities such as neighborhood centers, family homes and homes of the future. However, it is noticeable that women only obtain selective information and participate less in discussion groups and other group activities. The centers are rarely perceived or accepted as places of possible encounters and communication. Language and integration courses are attended, but the impression remains that specialized contacts are needed in order to really reach West African women with their everyday concerns.
Go1School eV is a migration organization.
We are open and versatile. Our concept is diversity-oriented, we create diversity, we have a unique selling point because we have knowledge of the (West) African population groups. We are members of networks and we link them together.
We have cooperation partners, for example: authorities, providers and associations. Both the trainers - multipliers and the participants are very motivated and interested in participation; the intrinsic social competence (swarm intelligence) is very pronounced.
Given the integration requirements, our goal is to bring our projects and projects initiated together with our cooperation partners into a structure and then into a standard structure.
As part of these motivations and goals, we work on projects and measures in the areas of integration, migration and refugee assistance and promote voluntary work. In doing so, we want to help overcome poverty and exclusion.
